A website based out of North Carolina has more than 50 personal stories detailing Obamacare failures.
The “I Couldn’t Keep My Plan” website, created by the Civitas Institute, a conservative think tank based in Raleigh, is attempting to fact-check President Obama’s vow: “If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan, period.”
Jim Tynen, communications director for Civitas, told The Daily Caller that the website “captures something statistics can’t.”
He said that the stories coming in show that Obamacare affects everyone. “It’s not just one kind of person. It’s all kinds of people facing all kinds of problems.”
One mother wrote on the site that she is worried Obamacare will prevent her 25-year-old daughter from excelling.
“She is currently paying $70.00 monthly for health insurance. Effective January 1st, her monthly premium will increase to $210 per month. She recently graduated from college, has a good job, but this cost is making it impossible for her to get established in life.”
On the other end of the spectrum, Obamacare affects seniors.
One senior said, “Because of the $750 billion dollars Mr. Obama has taken out of Medicare Advantage, my premium will go up from $6 per month to $61 per month. I believe that’s about 1000% increase – with no increase in benefits and the same high co-pays and a cap on out of pocket expenses of $6700.”
